         The Vision Behind the Art

The Artistic Directors serve as the leadership body overseeing all dance and music performances, ensuring each presentation reflects excellence, authenticity, and cultural pride. The team is responsible for restaging traditional dances by adapting formations, spacing, blocking, and overall presentation to suit specific venues and performance settings, while preserving the original steps, rhythm, expression, and cultural integrity.
They ensure all performances are presented under the Artistic Team designation, maintain accuracy in traditional folk dance staging, and work closely with the Music Committee to coordinate timing, transitions, and overall performance flow.

Born in Baguio City, the summer capital of the Philippines. At an early age, I was already active in dancing, singing, and instrumental playing. Carried through High School and College. A member of our Cultural Dance Troupe at St. Louis University. This deepened my appreciation for our Cultural Dances, especially Tribal Dances. I was also a member of the Baccalaureate Choir. I hold a Bachelor's Degree with a major in both Filipino and English, a minor in Music and Physical Education. I joined Mabuhay in 1994, and I served as the Music Director and helped as Co-Choreographer. With my background, I was able to help promote singing, dancing, and instrumental playing.

Born in Tuburan, Cebu. I was always fascinated by folk dances and costumes since grade school. Moving to and living in Tucson in 1975, I became a member of the Sampaguita Club. Learned folk dances and taught them to members. Founded the PMCFT in 1989. This is the ultimate fulfillment of my dream --- to teach, inspire, and share our culture through folk dances with the community.
